I completed the swedish kennel clubs 22 week long breeder course in July of 2023. After some consideration I decided to registrate a kennel name with the Swedish kennel club and FCI under the prefix *CHAGALIER.  CHAGALIER was born out of Chantel and Gåvas names. They are the foundation to my small kennel and their legacy will live on in coming generations.

My philosophy is that the basic of breeding is a fine balance between several important aspects. Foundation for me is feeding my dogs a balanced and healthy diet with proper nutrition.  Other aspects that are important to me, is the use of dogs that are anatomically sound, health screened with excellent results, excellent mentality and well socialised.  Any weakness that are not desired or according to the breed standard should slowly be outbreed. I respect and value the work that has previously been done by the breeders in my dogs pedigree and I research the depth and breadth of my dogs pedigree, as well as the intended sire's pedigree. I think that a breeder should always strive and follow the breed standard, have a vision and goal and look to each induviduals needs. 

The "perfect" Leonberger is constantly evolving, but I hope that by focusing on the basics of my breeding philosophy I can achieve closer to this ideal. I am committed in creating healthy, strong well-being animals that live up to our high leonberger standards. With carefully selected breeding and a passion for each individual.  I will strive to improve the breed for future generations.

Having said that- I will only breed when it's time to welcome a new member to our family.
